The Gearjammer is a reproduction of the Dinosaural Cogmeister by Coggins Audio, and is the creation of Dan Coggins of Lovetone fame. For an excellent review that summarizes this pedal much better than I ever could, click here: Cogmeister Guitar World Review The guys over at DeadEndFX did an amazing trace of one of these, complete with bias voltages for all the transistors. But in typical DEFX fashion, they sized their PCB way too large, and the original is quite large to begin with. So my goal for this was to cram it into the smallest enclosure possible that still kept it functional. I believe I achieved that. Everything fit nicely into a genuine Hammond 1550M enclosure, which is only 120mm x 100mm (4.7” x 3.9”), and I have no problem with the middle footswitch, which I offset vertically from the other two as much as possible for added ease. Nothing in the circuit was skimped on, all faithful to the original, with all Motorola diodes, Phillips and NSC transistors, Wima and CDE caps. Every transistor was measured and selected for gain. And it has a really cool laser cut faceplate that I spent way too much time designing. Next to a 125B for comparison:
