Face Deluxe
Face Deluxe is a modified classic Fuzz Face that seeks to give players more flexibility and options to sculpt their fuzz sound however they choose to.
At it’s core it is a classic Fuzz Face, and further refinements include:
Two sets of Bias and Impedance controls, switchable between the two sets via the A/B foot swtich.
Bias adjusts the voltage to the second stage transistor, which effects the overall fuzz character produced. Gated and spitty to smooth sustain and everywhere in between.
Impedance acts like your guitars volume control, allowing you to have roll back for “cleanup” with the press of the footswitch.
Germanium and silicon transistors, selectable for each stage.
Miller caps switch, which eliminates high frequency noise and smooths signal highs.
Fuzz Range switch - select modded or classic fuzz range.
Input Caps switch - varies the input capacitor value, adjusts low pass filter frequency, kind of a tone control.
Emitter Resistor switch - adds resistance to first stage transistor, reducing gain. Three positions - off, full and half.
Pickup Simulator - Adds a high quality JFET buffer and pickup simulator circuit at the input. Use to place the pedal further down your signal chain and avoid the thin or harsh fuzz sound normally associated with not having a Fuzz Face directly connected to a guitar.
Internal trimmers for Transistor 1 Bias and Transistor 2 Shape - Adjusts resistances to supply voltages fpr each transistor. Shape is before the Bias control
Features:
NOS germanium and silicon transistors
NOS Panasonic film caps
NOS silver mica Miller caps
NOS mylar output cap
Lumberg power and audio jacks
Custom designed and fabricated steel enclosure
Laser cut faceplate
Alpha potentiometers
Dailywell toggle and foot switches
The manual, which includes additional information on all features, can be found here:
